Lazurite Overview

Lazurite logoThe Lazurite database program brings highly advanced technology into the field of art research, allowing the creation of an interactive experience containing vast amounts of analytical data in a format which is easily accessible.

The software essentially sorts data into a searchable format organised around specific objects, large-scale images (X-ray, IR, macro-photography), samples taken and analyses carried out. Information on an object, the area of interest and sampling areas are directly linked to information on the related images and a wide variety of other analytical image data or spectral (VIS, IR, UV, XRD, XRF), chromatographic and mass spectrometric data on point samples.

A gallery of images showing the Lazurite interface, together with explanatory text, can be found here.

Metadata, keywords and other searchable features can also be added in a rigorous but extensible way. The database can also be used for keeping records of paint samples and unused sample material, photographs, analytical data files on paper, etc. External information such as word-processed reports, web addresses or animations can also be launched from within the database.
